Driver
We are seeking an experienced Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver who is compassionate and patient-focused. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing safe and efficient Non-Emergency Medical Transportation for patients for their medical appointments. They will be expected to transport the patient from their home or residential facility to their doctor’s office, hospital, or another medical facility. The driver must be able to assist wheelchair and stretcher clients safely into the vehicle. The NEMT Driver interacts directly with clients and must be professional at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Provide transportation services that are safe, timely, and accurate in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Transport patients to medical appointments as scheduled
- Assist/escort passengers or provide physical support as necessary for passengers in wheelchairs or stretchers
- Operate vehicles safely in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Maintain orderliness of the vehicle; Clean inside of vehicle after each transporting run
- Read, understand and comply with safety policies and procedures
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Collect payments/fares when applicable
- Present a professional appearance at all times
- Must have valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Prior experience driving NEMT (Non Emergency Medical Transportation) is preferred but not required
- Must be able to stand for 12 hours
